Students gather to protest the upcoming Summer Olympics, especially the massive spending on the games in the face of widespread economic hardship in the country. The protesters called for “Revolution, not Olympic games”: ¡No queremos olimpiadas, queremos revolución! Police opened fire, killing hundreds.
